StarConv 2.1
D'Bridge to Remote Access Message Area Converter
Copyright 1992 Chloe Rudzinski & Dan Sjolseth
All Rights Reserved
This program is very easy to use, so I will keep the explanations
short. It comes with NO guarantees.
StarConv is command line driven. The first parameter must be the
path to your D'Bridge directory, and the second must be the path
to your Remote Access directory. Get them right, or an error
message will be encountered.
Example:
Starconv /c:\db /c:\ra
Both the "/" and the "-" characters are acceptable on the command
line.
Example:
StarConv -c:\db\ -c:\ra\
The trailing backslash is optional.
If you are starting with an empty Messages.ra (the Remote Access
message config file), you will find that only the information
which is appropriate to it will be added from D'Bridge. Those
items not configurable from D'Bridge will NOT be altered from the
original (Remote Access) default settings.
If you are starting with a configured Messages.ra, its works a
little different. It will only update the information which does
not match D'Bridge's config file. StarConv will NOT wipe your
entire Messages.ra file, so updating directly from D'Bridge
becomes very easy!
To add an area to Remote access, just add it to D'Bridge. The run
StarConv, and it will add it to Remote Access, without disturbing
the rest of the areas (assuming they all match!)
Just in case, your Messages.ra is backed up in a file called
Messages.stc.
StarConv has been tested with D'Bridge 1061b & Remote Access 1.11
If you encounter any problems, please feel free to call us at
StarNet BBS 602-753-5881, or send a Netmail to 1:102/807.1.

BUGFIXES:
3/18/92 Due to unannounced changes in the DBridge.adf file, the
2.0 release of Starconv could not handle converting areas which had
been created by DB 1061beta. All areas created by previous releases
were ok.... so the program has been restructured.
My thanks to Phil Henry of 1:389/10 for his help in locating this
problem.
